As long as you don't lacquer on top of the decal, you can remove them if need be by leaving a damp cloth or sponge over the decal until it loosens with no damage to your treasured instrument.

Once the decal has dried it will blend in as if its part of your item.

Of course you can also use these decals on any smooth surface you would like.
